POMP?

It is an abbreviation of Phase Offset Multi Planar, and it is a method of acquiring signals by exciting two slices at the same time with a single complex RF pulse to obtain images as many as twice the number of slices at the same scan time.

The FOV and the number of phase edcoding are doubled, and the raw data of the two images are positioned in the K-space to have respective phases. At this time, to make the scan time and SNR the same, the system automatically makes NEX 1/2.

Because the signals from both slices are obtained simultaneously, the FOV should not be small, because artifacts from one slice can affect other slices, and the NPW (No Phase Wrap, anti-aliasing) option is not available.

POMP?

Phase Offset Multi Planar의 약자로, 복합된 하나의 RF 펄스로 2개의 단면을 동시에 여기 시켜서 신호를 얻어 동일한 촬영시간에 2배의 단면 수 만큼 영상을 얻는 방법이다.

FOV와 위상부호화 수를 두 배로 하여 K-space 안에 두 영상의 raw data가 각각의 위상을 갖도록 위치시킨다. 이때 촬영시간과 SNR을 동일하게 하기 위해 시스템에서는 자동적으로 NEX를 1/2로 만든다.

두 단면의 신호를 동시에 얻기 때문에 한 단면의 인공물이 다른 단면에도 영향을 미칠 수 있고 NPW (No Phase Wrap, anti-aliasing) 옵션을 사용할 수 없으므로 FOV가 작으면 안된다.
