Zipper artifact?

The shape of the artifact is a zipper, so it was called a 'zipper artifact' and it appears because a certain external frequency leaked into the magnetic room.

Zipper artifacts can appear in both the frequency encoding direction and the phase encoding direction, but most zipper artifacts due to external frequency interference appear in the phase encoding direction.

 

Remedy

First, you should always close the door of the MRI room before you scan, and check the shilding wall of the MRI room(the MRI room made of copper) from time to time. However, if you still have artifacts after following these instructions, contact your service engineer for checking.

지퍼 인공물?

외부의 특정 주파수가 검사실 내로 누설되어 나타나게 되며 인공물의 모양이 지퍼 모양이라서 '지퍼 인공물'이라고 부르게 되었다.

지퍼 인공물은 주파수 방향과 위상부호화 방향으로 모두 나타날 수 있지만 외부 주파수 간섭으로 인한 아티팩트의 경우의 대부분은 위상부호화 방향으로 나타난다.

 

방지대책

항상 검사실 문을 닫고 검사하며, 수시로 검사실의 차폐벽(구리나 동으로 이루어져 있는 MRI실의 차폐벽)을 점검해야한다. 하지만 이렇게 지침을 지켰음에도 계속 인공물이 생긴다면, 서비스 기술자에게 연락해서 점검 받도록 한다.
